Healthcare environments require fire safety solutions that not only achieve compliance but also minimise disruption to critical day-to-day operations.
At Fitzwilliam Hospital, Emergi-safe Ltd were appointed to carry out fire door inspections and provide a full replacement solution for several non-compliant fire door sets throughout the hospital. Following detailed inspections and client approval, we undertook the supply and installation of bespoke fire rated door sets, with much of the work carefully planned for out of hours installation due to the busy nature of the healthcare facility.
Every door set, including the frames, was individually measured and manufactured to suit the exact openings within the hospital. In addition to achieving full compliance, the client also required the new doors to match the existing design and finish standards throughout the building.
A key requirement of the project was ensuring that all new locks integrated seamlessly with the hospitals existing master key system, maintaining both security and operational continuity.
Alongside the standard fire door replacements, we also supplied and installed specialist lead-lined fire rated doors and frames within the X-Ray department, including: Main corridor access doors, separation doors between X-ray rooms and the control rooms, bespoke lead-lined frames and compliant ironmongery.
To ensure a fully completed finish, Emergi-safe Ltd also carried out all decorative making good works around the new installations, including surrounding finishes and skirting board reinstatement and finishing.
The completed project delivered: Improved fire compartmentation, fully compliant bespoke fire door sets, specialist lead-lined protection where required, minimal disruption to hospital operations, seamless integration with existing security systems, high quality finishes throughout.
